England's captain Andrew Strauss says : "This is a special moment for all of us. The players have had to dig pretty deep, it's been a very hard series." "When we were bad, we were very bad, and when we were good we managed to be good enough." "Freddie's been an incredible player for England, a great advert for the game of cricket and it just won't be the same without him."

Australia's captain Ricky Ponting says: "We've given our all through the series but unfortunately it hasn't been good enough.
